So, following Asashoryu and Hakuho now. Got it.
Asashoyru won his match against Kakuryu. Apparently he also did quite well last tournament, 11-4, and has won 23 championships. Impressive.
The beginning of that match was kind of fast and I didn't see i8t, but I definitley heard the slap I'm told Asashoyru gave Kakuryu. I did like how Asashoyru came from behind. He was on the verge of being pushed out when he knocked Kakuryu leg out from under him, a hook throw or kotenage according to two sources, thus winning the match. There was apparently a failed move in there where Asashoyru almost got Kakuryu by dangling and throwing him, but he managed to land on his feet.
Another blog seems to suspect the possibility of a set up on this one. This apparently has something to do with the senpai/kohai relationship. Basically mentor/trainee in this case. Both wrestlers were Mongolian and Asashoyru is apparently someone with great respect from the younger ones. If true, this says a lot about the culture involved in the match.
Hakuho also won his match, this one against Tochiozan. Last tournament was a perfect 15-0. Sumo talk thinks he's boring but I don't see anything making him more so than the others. I can understand if they meant the match though. Seemed basic and easy, Hakuho grabbed right ahold of Tochiozan's belt and pushed him straight out. I liked the other mtach better personally. |

I actually started twittering today. I have nothing to say and it'll be stream of conscious bullshit and pimping things out when I feel like it. And I'll prob end up ignoring it as much as I do this and my myspace, because I have nothing to say and no one really cares anyway. But people/shows I like give interesting updates there and it's the easiest way to get it. Much like why I joined myspace, to see pics and find info, before people moved, and how I joined this just to join groups and trade/watch/discuss/read crap. Honestly, why can't people just choose one thing to force me the join to keep up with things and be done with it? It's ridiculous. I don't need anymore log ins and useless crap.
I'm holding strong on facebook though. Not joining that damn cult, and no one at school can make me. |

Just saw the trailer for Watchmen.

It does not look awful. I was a bit scared (okay very fucking nervous) when I first heard they were making this, but thus far I mostly like the looks of the characters. And several of the images in the trailer look to be taken directly out of the comic book. Some of the clips in the trailer also point towards good important things actually being left in the movie.
Plus both "Under The Hood" and "Tales Of The Black Freighter" are planned to be dvd releases. These bits in the book really added something to the overall story and I am both surprised and relieved that they aren't going to be ignored. (Not to mention happy.)
I never thought I'd say this, but I think I might actually be rather looking forward to this.
Add that the Dr. Horrible being even more made of awesome in the second act. (Didn't think that was possible either!) I think my summer just peaked in mid-July. |

Just watched the latest from Joss Whedon. Nathan Fillion, Neil Patrick Harris, the songs, all wonderful. This thing is awesomeness squared with a double order of awesome and awesome sauce on the side. Fillion is campy and wonderful, Harris still sounds pretty and has me really interested in his character, and Joss Whedon is beyond terrific with the script and songs. I've had the freeze ray song stuck in my head since I first watched yesterday. Act 2 comes up tomorrow, and the entire thing will be offline on the 20th, so if anyone isn't planning on seeing it they should. www.drhorrible.com I think we crashed at least 3 sites yesterday. |

Sorry guys, most of this is going to be friend locked. I don't really have a large amount to say, and what I do will prob either be useless boring shit, or things I don't want everyone reading. Not that anyone would notice any difference, since i really just got the journal to join groups. |
